Benito Mussolini's Use of Fascism Upon the Italian People
Benito Mussolini’s use of fascism was extremely important to World War II because it was the driving force of Mussolini’s militaristic and nationalist regime. Fascism is the movement created in the mid-20th century by Benito Mussolini that enforces nationalism and a totalitarianism state in which everything is centered on fascists and opposes every other form of government. This invention played a key role in World War II because it is was united Italy under Mussolini’s dictatorship and what later played a key role in the beginning of Hitler’s Nazi Regime. Mussolini used fascism to eliminate all other kinds of government in Italy because he didn't want any competitors that made people think about the options in the European Society. This was significant to the beginning of World War II because it centered all of Italy’s people around Mussolini’s idea of fascism which made him an even more powerful and rising dictator. The growth of fascism at this time was convenient and appealing to the Italians because it eliminated all other forms of government, united Italy together as one country, created an uprising of the people against the monarchy, and seemed to the Italian people as a solution to their economic and political issues after World War I. This is important to the growth in power of Mussolini’s dictatorship because it gave the Italian people the idea that he could fix all of their problems and restore them back to their power compared to the great Roman Empire. Mussolini’s use of fascism was very important to his rise in power and an increase in national and military strength of the Italian people.
